Cleansing Flame
"Some said it was a punishment for our sins. Others that the Maeror wanted revenge after the war. I once heard someone blame the Learned. Not that it matters. In the end whatever caused it the result was the same. The first attacks were assumed to be isolated, but that was wishful thinking. People turned into monsters, their sins festering for all to see. The Learned said that those with pure souls are immune, but who amongst us has never strayed from the path? The Ashen City is all that stands now, the charred skeleton of the time that was. But the Learned say there is a ritual, a rite that will cleanse the world. All they need is those brave enough to do it."
